The Federal Government has approved N5 billion for each State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to cushion the impact of the removal of the fuel subsidy.
The Federal Government also released five trucks of rice each to the 36 State governors.
The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, disclosed this to State House Correspondents after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.
He said the States are to also purchase 100,000 bags of rice, 40,000 bags of maize, and fertilizers.
These measures are to bring temporary solutions to the high cost of living caused by the subsidy removal
