In a concerning turn of events, a pastor has reportedly gone missing in Enugu State after venturing out to purchase fuel for an upcoming church program, sparking fears that he might have fallen victim to a kidnapping.
The incident occurred on August 15, 2023, when Pastor ONOVO DANIEL NDUBUISE, hailing from Ogbeke Agbani Nkanu West, Enugu state, and based at Isenu Akpugo Nkanu West Enugu state, mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
Pastor Ogbodo Chinaza Freeborn, a close associate of the missing clergyman, shared his account of the incident. He revealed, “He informed me that he was heading out to purchase fuel using his Lexus 300 vehicle, with license plate TRR-622AA, on Wednesday afternoon around 2:15 pm.
His intention was to gather fuel for the upcoming Thursday night vigil and also withdraw funds from the union bank near the victory concept where he routinely buys fuel. Unfortunately, we have not received any communication from him since that moment.”
As suspicions grew, Pastor Chinaza and his elder brother decided to visit the union bank to secure Pastor ONOVO DANIEL NDUBUISE’s accounts. To their shock, they discovered that his bank account had been entirely drained. A similar predicament was found with his Opay account.
Deeply concerned by these unsettling developments, they promptly reported the incident to the police, who have since initiated a thorough investigation. Pastor Chinaza remarked, “We lodged formal complaints yesterday, and the police are diligently working on the case.”
In a disturbing twist, the alleged abductors have reportedly made contact with the family, demanding a hefty sum of 16 million Naira for the safe return of the pastor. Furthermore, they have issued chilling threats, warning Pastor Chinaza to refrain from interfering with their plans.
“They have contacted us, insisting on a ransom of 16 million Naira. In addition, they reached out to me privately using an anonymous number, cautioning me to step aside and cease my involvement with his family,” Pastor Chinaza disclosed.
