To prevent a protest by youths of the party, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have been stationed at the state Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The vehicles of the security operatives were stationed outside the party’s secretariat.
Spokesman of the Ondo state chapter of the PDP, Kennedy Peretei confirmed the presence of the security operatives.
According to Peretei, the protest was to demand the whereabouts of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu after being absent from the State since April 2023, adding that staff was not allowed into the secretariat.
On Sunday, the All Progressives Congress(APC) had raised the alarm over plots by the PDP and some APC chieftains to instigate a crisis in the state.
The ruling party said Governor Akeredolu would soon be back in the State.
The Ondo APC stated that Governor Akeredolu has been performing his official duties irrespective of location.
