In Maiduguri, Borno State, a banner featuring Davido’s photo was set ablaze by angry Islamic fanatics.
The incident occurred following the singer’s sharing of a music video featuring his new signee, Logos Olori, engaged in prayer and dancing with individuals donning Islamic attire in front of a mosque.
The video, which was tweeted by Davido, drew significant backlash from many Muslims who found it offensive and disrespectful.
They expressed their concerns that using a mosque as a backdrop for such festivities was inappropriate and not in line with the sanctity of the religious space.
Feeling the mounting pressure and criticism, Davido eventually bowed to public sentiments and deleted the tweet featuring the controversial video.
The incident has ignited discussions about cultural sensitivity and the importance of respecting religious places and practices.
