One of the schoolgirls kidnapped when Boko Haram terrorists invaded the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State on April 14, 2014, Joy Bishara, recently got engaged in the United States of America.
It would be recalled that 276 mostly students aged from 16 to 18 were forcefully taken from the school during an attack. 57 of the schoolgirls escaped immediately by jumping from the trucks while they were being transported to the terrorist’ enclave.
While some others have been rescued by the Nigerian Armed Forces on various occasions, over 100 remain missing.
Fortunately, Bishara and her cousin, Lydia Pogu, were among those who escaped the attack that caught global attention and relocated to the United States.
She graduated from Southeastern University, where she obtained a degree in social work in 2021.
