The Supreme Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is currently on fire.
The cause of the fire is not known at the time of filing this report.
However, reports say, firefighters from the Federal Fire Service are at the scene of the incident.
In some videos circulating on social media, black smoke was seen billowing from the building.
“Smoke was coming out of the office of Justice Saulawa. We did our best to try to put out the fire with an extinguisher but we could not control it,” one source was quoted saying.
“We later called the firefighters and they came. We all put hands together. It has been brought under control now.”
The source added that “everything” in Saulawa’s office was consumed.
“Only his chamber was affected. Before it got to the chambers of other justices, we controlled it,” he added.
The supreme court building is located on the Three Arms Zone in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
