The Acting Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulkarim Chukkol, has charged youth to shun criminality and be agents of change in the fight against financial and economic crimes, including corruption in Nigeria.
The Chairman, who was represented by the Maiduguri Zonal Commander of the Commission, ACE I Oshodi Johnson, stated this at Mustapha Umar Arabic College, National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Orientation Camp, Maiduguri, Borno State, on Thursday.
According to him, “…our desire is to harness your intelligence and energy for greater public good in your areas of primary assignments.”
He emphasized that the youths have roles to play in sensitising the public on the menace of corrupt practices.
Similarly, the acting Chairman told Corp members at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Okada, Edo State, to see themselves as important stakeholders in the anti-graft war.
“The message to you all is that you should become whistleblowers in any place where you find yourself by reporting acts that fail the simple test of integrity,” he stated.
