Ace Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth has apologized to his colleague, Ayo Makun.
The two comedians have been at odds for more than ten years over a debt Makun alleged Basketmouth owes him.
AY Makun had, during a March 2023/interview with popular media personality, Chude Jideonwo, claimed that earlier in his career, had invited him to take his place at a comedy show.
The actor further claimed that after the show, Basketmouth refused to pay him the N30,000 fee for the performance even though the show’s organisers had made the payment to the latter even before the event.
Reacting to the allegation, Basketmouth said he would rather not respond. He also expressed his desire to never talk to AY again.
“To be honest, I don’t want that guy to ever hear from you,” he said in the viral video.
However, Basketmouth has taken a U-turn to apologise to Makun for his misdoings. In a video shared via his Instagram page on Monday, the comedian said he was genuinely sorry for any hurt he has caused to anyone in the industry.
“To my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that affected you in any way and I want you to know that I have forgiven you for whatever you said or did, knowingly or unknowingly. I just want peace and harmony”, he said.
