Heads of drug law enforcement agencies in Africa have called for specialised courts to try drug cases and other organised crimes across the continent. This was part of the recommendations adopted at the end of the weeklong 31st meeting of heads of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies, Africa (HONLAF) in Abuja. A drug kingpin wanted for attempts to ship illicit drug consignments to the United Kingdom tops the list of arrests made by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA through interdiction operations that led to the seizure of four tons of illicit substances in the past week. An Edo State High Court sitting in Benin-city has convicted and sentenced three internet fraudsters to different jail terms. The fraudsters: Edo Othuke, Hurock Miracle, and Blessing Gbekena were jailed by Justices M. Itsueli and Efe Ikpownonba. While Othuke was convicted on Friday, September 29, 2023, Miracle was jailed on Thursday, September 28, 2023, and Gbekena was jailed on Tuesday,  September 26, 2023.
