Dr. Amos Josiah Dangut has been appointed by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) as the Head of the Nigeria National Office. Dangut takes over from Patrick Areghan, whose tenure ends this month. WAEC made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday. According to the statement, Dangut, until his appointment, was the Deputy Registrar/HNO’s office. At least, 10 people, including three children, were killed and 60 more injured when the roof of a church came crashing down on a baptism in northeastern Mexico on Sunday, authorities said. The disaster struck the coastal town of Ciudad Madero, in Tamaulipas state, with a Red Cross rescuer telling local media that 80 people had been in attendance at the Santa Cruz parish when the roof caved in. “Unfortunately, ten people are confirmed dead. “Of these, five are women, two men and three children,” Governor of Tamaulipas, Americo Villarreal, told reporters at the scene of the disaster. The Federal Government of Nigeria says it did not sign a non-prosecution plea bargain with suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele. The refuttal was made by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN). Sylvia Bongo, the wife of Gabon’s ousted President Ali Bongo, has been charged with money laundering, receiving stolen property, forgery, and the use of forgery.
