Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted illicit drugs from a wanted kingpin. The illicit substance was concealed in hidden compartments created in a J5 bus. This was disclosed in a terse statement issued on Sunday by the Spokesman of NDLEA, Femi Babafemi on his official X handle. Babafemi said almost a ton of loud was recovered from the van intercepted by the NDLEA. A total of 34 persons have died after an explosion rocked Cotonou, Benin Republic. This was confirmed to journalists by a government official on Saturday. According to the official, the explosion and the resultant casualties happened when a contraband fuel dump burst into flames in southern Benin, near the border with Nigeria. “A serious fire occurred in the town of Seme Podji,” interior minister, Alassane Seidou, told reporters. “Unfortunately we have 34 deaths including two babies. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says plans to introduce the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in the administration of its examinations are at an advanced stage.
