President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has been elected into the Global Executive Committee Of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Akpabio announced this in a post on his Facebook page on Friday.
According to him, the last time a Nigerian was elected into this position was in 1964, saying the 59-year-old jinx had been broken by his election.
He wrote, “History was today made in far away Angola. Just like we broke the Guinness Book of World Records, a 59-year-old jinx was broken few hours ago, when I was unanimously elected into the Global Executive Committee Of The Inter-Parliamentary Union.
“The last time a Nigerian was elected into this position was in 1964. To God be the Glory.”
