The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a syndicate of four suspects involved in “Shilla” gangsterism.
The command stated this in a terse statement on its official X handle on Sunday night.
The suspects, according to the statement, were arrested on the 10th of September by the combined team of police and members of the Local Security Support Group (Vigilantes).
They were nabbed after bobbing some residents of Demsawo and Nasarawo wards.
It said the arrest of the four suspects was a result of another operational strategy introduced by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola to checkmate the activities of Shilla Gangsterism within the state capital.
The statement gave the names of the suspects as 18-years-old Kabiru Yahaya, a resident of Kala’a’ Street, Jimeta; 23-year-old Abdulazees Mohammed, a resident of Wuro Kuturu; 18-years-old Adamu Babayo a resident of Bauchi street and 20-years-old Ibrahim Mohammed, a resident of Nasarawo Borehole.
All the suspects are from the state’s Yola North Local Government Area.
“The suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the Extant Laws,” the statement reads.
