Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has taken a dig at Reno Omokri over his involvement in the fundraising campaign for veteran Nigerian comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.
Mr. Ibu had a few days, made a public appeal for assistance as he faces an undisclosed illness that could potentially result in the loss of his legs.
The plea generated widespread reactions.
Omokri, in response to the actor’s plea video, called on Peter Obi to cover the medical expenses of the ailing actor.
He pointed out that Ibu had previously endorsed and campaigned for Mr. Obi as his preferred candidate during the 2023 general elections, making it a moral obligation for the LP flagbearer to support the actor in his time of need.
Kanayo, in a video posted on his Instagram handle, strongly criticised Omokri for his involvement in the matter.
He emphasised that the act of giving is a personal matter and should not be used as a means to pass judgement on others.
The thespian expressed his strong disapproval of Omokri’s actions and characterised him as heartless.
