
Tina Turner Dies At 83
The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner, on Wednesday, died at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, aged 83.
The singer had battled several life-threatening illnesses, including cancer, strokes, and kidney failure.
Her spokesperson said: “Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”
Turner is considered one of the greatest singers of all time and has won a total of 12 Grammy Awards. She was the first black artist and first woman to be on the cover of Rolling Stone. Turner had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 2021.
