
Police Rescue Five Kidnapped Students In Zamfara
Zamfara State Police Command has rescued five students of the Federal University, Gusau, who were abducted after suspected kidnappers invaded the house of one Isah Mai Bread in Sabon Gari area of Damba village, Gusau Local Government Area of the State.
Following search and rescue operations led by the Divisional Police Officer, Damba Division, two of the victims named, Blessing Matthew ‘F’ and Comfort Olola ‘F’, were rescued and taken to the Police clinic for treatment.
The team later intercepted the bandits at Karazau forest of Damba village, who took to their heels and abandoned the remaining three students to evade arrest.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Bunu, in a statement issued by the acting Command Spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, on Friday, disclosed that the suspected kidnappers collected N200,000 from the occupant of the home and proceeded to the student apartment, where they abducted two male and three female students.
While noting that the victims have reunited with their families, the CP assured that efforts were in top gear to arrest the fleeing suspects.
