Police Foil Attempt To Kidnap Female Students of Plateau State University (PLASU)

Plateau State Police Command has foiled an attempt by gunmen to kidnap some female off-campus students of Plateau State University Bokkos (PLASU).

On Tuesday at about 7:15 pm, the student had gone out to fetch firewood at a nearby bush when they were waylaid by the kidnappers.

After receiving a distress call from the Vice Chancellor of the University and other good citizens of the State, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bokkos Division, led a team that gave a hot chase to the hoodlums. They fled and abandoned the students, who were rescued unhurt.

No life was lost and no student was raped as alleged on social media and some news platforms, the State Police Spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, said.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bartholomew Onyeka, assures the good citizens of the State that relentless efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects. He also urged all citizens to go about their lawful businesses and ensure that they give the Police and other security agencies useful, accurate, and timely information.
