Suspected Ogun Ritualist Confesses To Buying Human Legs For N20,000

A 35-year-old suspected ritualist, Ifasoji Ayangbesan, confessed to buying two human legs for N20,000 while he was being paraded at Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Wednesday.

The suspect was arrested at his hideout in Ijade Iloti area of Ijebu Ode on Friday, April 28, 2023, after he was fingered as the buyer of a victim’s legs in a ritual killing case.

According to the Police, the suspect and other members of his syndicate allegedly killed and dismembered a victim, Oyindamola Adeyemi, at Ijebu Ode on January 28, 2023.

However, the suspect alleged that he was not involved in the killing of the victim, despite offering a One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) bribe to Officers at the point of his arrest.

He said, “I bought two fresh human legs, but I was not involved in the murder of the victim. I was approached by my friend, Lukman, who told me he had a pair of legs to sell. Though I told him I did not need them, he convinced me to use them for the ritual to better my life, and I agreed.”

On the allegation of bribing the Police, Ayangbesan said that a lawyer had instructed him to provide N10 million to secure his release, but he was only able to gather N1 million, which he wanted to give the lawyer before his arrest.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has assured that the suspects would be charged in Court soon.
