
Female CEO Jailed Three Years For N4m Forex Scam
Justice J.O. Onwuegbuzie of the FCT High Court, Apo-Abuja, has convicted and sentenced a Chief Executive Officer, identified as Fatima Suleiman, after being found guilty of a Four Million Naira (N4,000,000) forex scam.
56-year-old Suleiman, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Jamilma Multilinks Logistics Services Limited, was convicted on a one-count charge that bordered on dishonestly converting the sum of Four Million Naira (N4,000,000) given to her for conversion to United States of American Dollars by one Chigozie Ezeagu, the according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The defendant had pleaded not guilty upon arraignment leading to her full trial.
In his ruling on Thursday, Justice Onwuegbuzie found the defendant guilty of the charge preferred against her, convicted and sentenced her to three years imprisonment without an option of fine.
The convict is also to pay the sum of Three Million Naira (N3,000,000) in restitution to the victim, Ezeagu.
