Man Hacks Girlfriend To Death In Kaduna For Planning To Dump Him

A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend after he inflicted machete cuts on her body.

The unnamed suspect was rescued by the Police at the point of being lynched by an angry mob who witnessed the incident.

On April 14, 2023, the suspect attacked his girlfriend at Old Command Secondary and Nursery School, Sokoto Road, Kaduna State, with a machete and inflicted multiple degrees of injury on her face, arms and severing her left hand completely.

After receiving a distress call, the Police mobilized to the scene and rescued the suspect at NEPA Roundabout.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, the suspect alleged that he had spent a lot of resources on his girlfriend and she wanted to dump him for another man. 

He said the victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, for treatment, where a doctor on duty confirmed that she was dead.

He also added that the corpse of the lady has been deposited  for an autopsy.

An investigation is  ongoing.
