
FCT Police Foil Armed Robbery Operation, Arrest Suspects
Operatives attached to Apo Divisional Headquarters, FCT Police Command, on Wednesday, foiled an armed robbery operation in Zone E Extension Apo Resettlement area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspects had dispossessed residents of their properties- including an ash-coloured BMW vehicle with Reg. No. ABJ 440 KX containing three plasma televisions and two laptops.
The Police responded to the distress call and mobilized to the scene. However, on sighting the Police, the hoodlums abandoned the stolen items and fled in a red Volkswagen Golf with Reg. No. LUY 899 KV.
According to the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the operatives gave them a hot chase and intercepted them at the Games Village Roundabout.
The driver, identified as Dahiru Muazu, and another suspect, Halifa Hamisu, were arrested.
Investigation is ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.
