Police Authorities Pay Condolence Visit To The Family Of Murdered Man 

Delta State Police Command, on Friday, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Onyeka Ibe, who was shot and killed by a Police Inspector along the Ugbolu-Illah Road, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the State State. 

 It was alleged that the suspect, Inspector Onyeka Ibe, while on stop and search duties on Wednesday, engaged in an altercation with the deceased over N100 bribe and shot him.

Representing the State Commissioner of Police,  the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Johnson Adenola, expressed the sympathy of the Command,  noting that every Officer in the Command shared in the pain and agony of the family members. 

According to him, the late Onyeka was well known to many Officers of the Command and a good friend of the Police whose death was highly regrettable. 

“There was no known justification for the action of Inspr. Ubi, hence, the Command promptly arrested him to answer for his misdeed,” he intoned.

The then State Commissioner of Police, AIG Ari Mohammed Ari, had ordered an internal disciplinary process before his arraignment for swift justice. He reiterated that the Force as an institution would never cover or defend any of its personnel who acted outside their rules of engagement .

Responding, the family appreciated their concern, restating that all they want is justice for their son.
