70-Year-Old Man Arrested For Allegedly Raping Two Minors

A 70-year-old father of three, Usman Ibrahim, who is accused of a raping two minors, has been arrested by the Police in Adamawa State.

The victims were aged four and seven. The suspect reportedly committed the crime on Tuesday, April 8, 2023, after luring the children to his residence at Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.

The victims’ father reported the case at the Divisional Police Headquarters after observing that his children experienced unusual pain while urinating.

“The suspect, Usman Ibrahim was said to have lured the two victims into his room situated at a close distance to the victims and took advantage of them while on their way going to Lesson and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them,” the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, has expressed worry over the unfortunate incident and directed the Officer in charge of the Family Support Unit of the State CID to take over the investigation and ensure diligent prosecution.
