President Buhari Swears EX-IGP Arase As PSC Chairman
President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in former Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase (rtd.), as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
He took the oath of office on Wednesday shortly before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting at the State House, Abuja.
Present at the inauguration were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and other FEC members.
It would be recalled that on January 24, 2023, President Buhari asked the Senate to confirm his appointment as the new Chairman of the Commission in line with section 154 (1) of the constitution as amended.
Arase served as the 18th indigenous Inspector-General of Police and retired from the Force on June 21, 2016.
