Police Rescue 13 Abducted Victims, Recovers Ammunition

Operatives of Kogi State Police Command attached to the Quick Response Unit have rescued eleven male and two female victims kidnapped at a Hotel in Eleite Area along Ajaokuta road on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

The victims were rescued on Tuesday following credible intelligence that led to the kidnappers’ hideout in a forest around Zariagi-Kabba Junction. 

According to the State Police Spokesperson, SP William Aya, the hoodlums engaged the Police in a gun duel, but the team subdued them, forcing them to flee with varying degrees of injuries.

One AK47 magazine containing six rounds of ammunition was recovered from the scene.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Akeem Yusuf, while commending the Operatives for their bravery and diligence, urged members of the public particularly the adjoining communities to be on the lookout and report anybody seen with bullet wounds to the nearest security formation or agencies.

He further enjoined the good people of the State to continue cooperating with the Police and provide credible information on the activities of criminal elements to curtail their acts in the State.
