Woman Burnt, Houses of Officials Razed By Gunmen In Imo

Gunmen have razed the houses of the Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Emeka Okoronkwo,  a Former Director of the Department of State Service (DSS), Barr. Chukwu Emeka Jude Ngwu, and one Barr. Obinna Obiaraer located at Ihube, Okigwe Local Government Area of the Imo State.

Also, a woman, identified as Grace Ngwu, who was in the House of the former DSS Director during the attack, was burnt beyond recognition.

The Police have linked that attack that occurred on Tuesday morning to the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Confirming the incident, the State Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, said the Divisional Police Officer, Okigwe and his team mobilized to the scene, recovered the body of the deceased and deposited it at the mortuary.

While an investigation is ongoing, the Police have intensified an intelligence-led patrol to unravel the identities of the perpetrators of this dastardly act,
