President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over a meeting of the National Security Council at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting is expected to review the current security situation in Nigeria, particularly before the general election.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba and Directors General of the State Security Service and National Intelligence Agency, Yusuf Bichi and Ahmed Abubakar, are in attendance.

Before the meeting, the President launched security equipment donated by the Coalition Against Covid-19 (CACOVID) at the Council Chambers for use by law enforcement agencies.
