Cousins Arrested For Armed Robbery, Murder In Ogun

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested two cousins, identified as 34-year-old Damilola Famoriyo and 31-year-old Akinbayo Emmanuel Abiodun, for allegedly robbing
and killing a tricyclist.

The Police said that the deceased, Amos Oyemechi Chuckwuka, was macheted to death and his body was dumped at a riverbank in Ijebu-ode. One of the suspects, Damilola Famoriyo,
was arrested on February 9, 2023, through technical intelligence and he led the Police to his accomplice, who is also his cousin, Akinbayo Emmanuel.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the State Police Spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyememi, the suspects told the Police that on December 13, 2022, they lured the victim to carry their
farm products from Agoro area to the town, however, on getting to Agoro/Ikangba Road, they snatched the tricycle from him. When the deceased tried to struggle with them, they
macheted him to death and dragged his corpse to the riverbank.

They also informed the Police that they have snatched up to eight tricycles in Ijebu Ode area and their standby buyers reside at Ikorodu in Lagos State. The deceased two phones and the
cutlass used to commit the crime were recovered.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
