Police Begins Investigation As Lady Dies in Abuja Hotel

A lady, identified as Promise Ekong from Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, reportedly died in a hotel, Stanzel Grand Resort, located at 5th Avenue, Gwarinpa, Abuja.

The news of her death has spread on social media, and the Management of the hotel claimed that she drowned in their swimming pool.

Confirming the incident, FCT Command Spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, said Gwarimpa Divisional Police Headquarters received a report of her death from one Abang Paul, a male resident of SNCO 1 Lungi Barracks Abuja, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

He told the Police that a male lodger in the hotel, identified as one Yakubu Mohammed, called to inform him that his sister was swimming in the pool and it was later noticed that she stopped moving.

Upon receipt of the information, a team of Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) visited the scene of the incident and rushed her to the hospital, where she was unfortunately confirmed dead.

Her body has been deposited at the mortuary and the Police have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.
