
Operatives of Bauchi State Police Command in a joint operation with other sister security agencies raided a kidnapper/bandits’ hideouts at Dajin Madam and Yankari’s thick forests in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the State on December 31st, 2022.
The raid led to the death of several bandits and others fled into the deep forest with possible bullet wounds as their enclaves were destroyed. Two Ak47 rifles were also recovered during the operation.
According to the State Police Spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Command is recording success in the fight against the menace of kidnapping as unrelenting Police Operations in the affected areas have denied kidnappers and bandits a breathing space to carry out their nefarious activities at Rimi, Magama Bagwas, Mansur, Pali and Yalo villages.
In another development, Operatives attached to the Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested two suspected kidnappers on December 27th, 2022.
The suspects were identified as 33-year-old Adamu Mohammed and 35-year-old Datti Alh. Bulama AKA Dattuwa.
The PPRO noted that an investigation revealed that the principal suspect (Adamu Muhammad) confessed to participating in kidnapping activities in Kaltanga village, where they kidnapped four people and camped them at Yankari Forest for five days until the sum of twenty million naira (N20,000,000) was paid as ransom and he was given N30,000 as his share.
While commending the efforts of the operatives, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan, reiterates the readiness of the Command to synergize with other sister security agencies towards improving security.
