The Police in Edo State have arrested a lady, Favor Oyhou, who has been accused of killing her boyfriend, 25-year-old Paul Handsome, in Auchi.
Although the circumstances that led to the suspect killing the victim on Saturday, July 23, 2022, are still unknown, she went into hiding after killing her boyfriend, but the long arm of the law caught up with her.
When the incident was reported, efforts by Auchi Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officer yielded results as the suspect was apprehended in Benin on Monday.
“The State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, ordered the Area Commander and Divisional Police Officer in charge of Auchi to smoke out the fleeing girl unhurt. The Command wishes to inform the general public that following credible intelligence gathering by Operatives of the Command, the suspect was arrested in Benin on Monday at about 10:45 pm,” the Command Deputy Spokesperson, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, said.
The Police noted that the suspect is making useful information and will be charged to Court soon.
In the same vein, three traditional worshippers whisked away by kidnappers on Monday have been rescued.
The traditional worshippers had gone to a river along the Benin-Abraka road for prayers when they were accosted by the kidnappers.
Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Ugo, immediately mobilised his operatives to the scene.
The hoodlums sensing the presence of the operatives on their trail, were forced to abandon their victims and fled into the bush, ASP Iwegbu noted.
