The Federal Government has ordered the immediate closure of the Federal Government College Kwali, located in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, gave the directive in the early hours of Monday.
According to him, the closure became pivotal following security breaches on Sheda and Lambata Villages, suburbs of Kwali Area Council, which also threatened the school. Although, the timely intervention of security agencies saved the situation.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Bem Goong, the Minister also directed that arrangements should be made for final year students to conclude their NECO examinations.
Meanwhile, the Principals of Unity Colleges across the country have been advised to liaise with security agencies within their jurisdictions to forestall any security breach.
