A couple has been remanded in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison by a Court for physically assaulting Police Officers at Oluwaga-Ipaja, Lagos State.
At about 2:30 pm on Sunday, the Police Officers attached to Ipaja Division flagged down a Mercedes Benz car for not having number plates. Immediately the occupants of the vehicle, Adebayo and Clinton Ayobami, became aggressive, fighting and questioning the Policemen on why they stopped them and not other cars.
In an attempt to get them to the Station for further questioning, owing to their unprovoked aggressiveness and suspicious behavior, Mrs. Adebayo and her husband, Ayobami Clinton, assaulted the Police Officers, the State Police Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said in a tweet.
He added that they were arraigned today before the Court today and the Court remanded them at Kirikiri prison while the car was impounded.
