Zamfara State Government has suspended the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area for allegedly turbaning a notorious bandit leader, Ado Aleru, as Sarkin Fulani (Chief of Fulani) of Yandoto Emirate.
Ado Alero is a notorious bandits leader terrorizing communities in Zamfara and neighboring States. In reaction to the photos of the turbaning ceremony going viral, the State Government, after suspending the Emir with an immediate effect, appointed a committee to investigate the matter.
“This is to inform the general public the Zamfara State Government has dissociated itself from the alleged turbaning of a Sarkin Fulani by the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area. In this regard, the State Executive Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON (Shattiman Sokoto) has directed for suspension of the Emir with immediate effect,” the Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe Sardauna, stated.
The Committee members are Hon. Yahaya Chado Gora as Chairman, Hon. Yahaya Mohamnad Kanoma, Hon. Muhammad Umar Birnin Magaji, Hon. Lawal Abubakar Zannah, Isa Muhammad Moriki, and Barr. Musa Garba as Secretary.
Meanwhile, Alh. Mahe Garba Marafa, who is the District Head of ‘Yandoto, has been assigned to take charge of the affairs of the Emirate.
