Operatives of Ogun State Police Command Anti-Cultism Unit have arrested six suspected cult members who were engaging in a supremacy battle in Ijaye area of Abeokuta, on Tuesday.

The Police named the suspects Kazeem Ogundairo aka NEPA, Nasiru Idris aka Aloma, Ayo Joshua aka Terry G, Damilare Shogbamu aka Dhray, Bisiriyu Ibrahim Owoyele and Labulo Jamiu aka Jay boy.

The suspects were arrested following a distress call by residents of the area.

According to the State Police Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, when the hoodlums saw the Policemen deployed to the scene, some fled while others engaged the Policemen in a fight, using dangerous weapons. Six of them were arrested while others escaped.

He added that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered a continuous operation to clampdown all cultists in the State and put an end to their nefarious activities.
