Seven armed robbery and murder suspects have been arrested by Operatives of the Ilemba Hausa Police Division at Mojirade Street in Shibiri, Lagos State.
The suspects named Esther Newman Joel Anaba, Ruben Ude, Chinedu Emenike, Abuchi Peter, Chima Simon, and James John were arrested on Friday, April 22, 2022, at their hideout.
A silver-colored Sienna bus with Reg No. LSR 509 HB, one locally made double barrel pistol, four live cartridges, one machete, one knife, two screwdrivers, twelve mobile phones, one access bank ATM card with the name Newton Newman, and some substances suspected to be Indian Hemp were recovered from the suspects.
According to the State Police Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, they are also being investigated for the murder of one Sergeant Edison Fulman attached to Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, on April 14, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the Command Headquarters for further investigation.
