A 27-year-old man, Adeniyi Adeleke, accused of luring and defiling a 10-year-old girl in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, is currently in Police custody.
The suspect lives in the same house as the family of the young girl, so he took that advantage and lured her into his apartment.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, 16th of April 2022, following a report lodged by the victim’s mother at Idoani Divisional Headquarters.
“On the 16th of April 2022, at about 2:40 pm, one Bosede Alo of Idoani reported at the Idoani Division, that sometimes in March 2022, at about 3:00 pm, one Adeniyi Adeleke called her 10-year-old daughter to his room and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her,” the State Police Spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, stated.
The suspect told the Police that he defiled the young girl because he wanted to use her for money ritual.
A ring and pieces of red clothes were recovered from him.
