Gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday attacked a Police Station in Anaku, Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.
However, Operatives engaged the gunmen in a gunbattle and in an attempt to escape, the assailants threw locally made explosives into the Station.
The Police recorded no loss of lives or weapons, but three operational vehicles were set ablaze.
In reaction to the incident, the State Police Spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the men of the Command are more determined now than ever to protect all their facilities from attacks and face the attackers.
It would be recalled that on Thursday, 14th of April, 2022, Police operatives led by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng, foiled an attack by gunmen at Nteje Divisional Headquarters, Oyi LGA, and recovered one type O6 rifle, one magazine, and fifty- three live ammunition of 5.56mm and charms.
