The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, who was on his way out of the country to the United States.

He was arrested at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, on Thursday, after handing over to his successor, Governor Charles Soludo.

The Anti-graft Agency had placed Obiano on their watchlist in November 2021, four months before his tenure ended as a Governor.
