A 30 years old housewife, Cynthia Olukiowu, is in Police custody for allegedly stabbing her husband’s nephew, 18-year-old Habeeb Aremu, to death.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday after Policemen attached to Agbado Divisional Headquarters, Ogun State Police Command, received a distress call on the incident.

According to the Police, the suspect and the deceased engaged in a heated argument after he had allegedly broken the mirror used at home.

“It was the allegation that led to disagreement between the deceased and his uncle’s wife, subsequent upon which the suspect took a kitchen knife and used it to stab the deceased on his neck,” the State Police Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement on Sunday.

When the Police got to the crime scene, they found the victim in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, and his corpse was deposited at Ifo general hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
