Four teenagers accused of beheading a young girl for money ritual have been remanded in prison.

The Police in Ogun State arraigned 20-year-old Balogun Mustakeem, 18-year-old Majekodunmi Soliu, 19-year-old Abdulgafar Lukman, and 18-year-old Waris Oladeinde before a Magistrates Court on Thursday.

They are charged with conspiracy and murder.

The Court heard that they committed the offence on January 28 at about 11:00 pm. According to the Prosecutor, identified as Inspector Lawrence Balogun, the defendants conspired to murder the deceased, Sofiat, by cutting off her head with a cutlass.

Magistrate I. O Abudu did not take the plea of the defendants and ordered that the defendants should be remanded in Oba Correctional Centre, pending legal advice from the Ogun State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The Magistrate adjourned the case until March 14 for mention.
