A teenager, Soliu Majekodunmi, who allegedly connived with three others to strangle and beheaded his girlfriend, Sofiat Kehinde, has stated that they got the guidelines for money-making from Facebook.

The suspects, 17-year-old Wariz Oladehinde, 19-year-old Abdul Gafar Lukman, 18-year-old Soliu Majekodumi, and 20-year-old Mustakeem Balogun, were arrested in the early hours of Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Ogun State, while they were burning the victim’s skull in a local pot.

While they were paraded at the State Police Command Headquarters on Monday, Soliu explained that they had contributed money and purchased other ingredients needed for the ritual, so they decided to kill the victim when she came to his house on Friday.

“This can only be described as a superlative degree of callousness. It is despicable and barbaric at this time for somebody to believe that they can use the life of a human to get money. More so, what is it that teenagers want to use the money for that led them to this type of heinous crime? It is still beyond the comprehension of a normal human being,” DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Spokesperson, intoned.

The Police recovered a short cutlass, a pot, and a knife from the suspects.
