To curb the recent rise in kidnapping activities in Jigawa State, the State Police Command organized an intelligent-led-raid code named “Operation Flush Out” which resulted in the arrest of 14 suspects- 10 males and four females.
The operation was carried out in Sule-Tankarkar Local Government Area with the Officers and Men from the Department of Operations, Police Mobile Force, Criminal Investigation Department, State Intelligence Bureau, Medical Department, Gumel, Ringim, and K/Hausa Area Commands and Hunters. Three criminal hideouts were raided in Dajin Maizuwo, Dan Gwanki, and Yandamo villages in Sule-Tankarkar
LGA, State Commissioner Of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, said.
The Police named the suspects 25-year-old Sulaiman Abdullahi of Takaya, 25-year-old Sulaiman Bello of Kaduna State, 28-year-old Auwalu Moh’d of Maizuwo, 18-year-old Babandi Moh’d of Kargo, 17-year-old Mujittafa Mamman of Takaya, 15-year-old Musa Mamman of Takaya, 20-year-old Yakubu Muh’d of Maizuwo.
Others are 40-year-old Ardo Mamman Audu of Maizuwo, 30-year-old Yaú Habu of Yandamo, 37-year-old Bashir Ibrahim of Gizo, 23-year-old Zilai Hamza of Maizuwo,25-year-old Amina Saminu of Maizuwo, 30-year-old Sabira Hamza of Maizuwo, and 50-year-old Aisha Moh’d of Maizuwo.
The Police recovered three AK47 Rifles, two of which were stolen from Police Officers killed at Kwalam village Taura LGA on Sunday while responding to a distress call, nine magazines, and 308 live ammunition of 7.6mm.
Other items recovered were one burnt General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with its two empty chains, one Toyota Hummer bus, nine motorcycles, the sum of Two Million and Seventy thousand (₦2,070,000.00) cash, one cutlass, six different handsets with nine batteries, 12 SIM cards, five SD memory cards and charms.
The Commissioner of Police assured that the Command would not relent on its oars of protecting lives and properties of the good people of the State.
