30 students of Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri in Kebbi State, and a teacher have regained freedom after being held captive for more than six months, authorities confirmed.
The victims who were abducted in June 2021 arrived in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital, following their release on Saturday.
The Special Adviser (S.A) Media to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki, in a statement, thanked security agencies for aiding their release, adding that the victims will be reunited with their families.
“They shall undergo medical screening and support while being reunited with their families.
“We thank all security agencies and those who have helped in securing the release while congratulating Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari, for the success,” he said
