Operatives of Abia State Police Command in a gun battle with suspected armed robbers [Read More] shot two and arrested one Ugochukwu Emeka Uche after the gang robbed a filling station in Ogbor Hill area of the State.

Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade said a patrol team upon receiving a tip off from Base 2 about nefarious actions of some suspected hoodlums, the patrol team went after robbers who were at the verge of robbing the filling station when the Police team arrived the scene of crime.

He said the hoodlums on sighting the Patrol team opened fire on them, however,fire power and proficiency of the operatives halted their robbery operation and enabled their arrest.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect includes a Toyota 4 Runner Jeep with Registration Number DR 413 ENU, one Toyota Corolla saloon car with registration number EPE 568 EM, belonging to one Uzoefuna Ifechi Kingsley. Other exhibits are, two wedding rings and sixty thousand twenty-naira cash.

The suspect would be charged to court on completion of investigations.
