Suspected syndicates who specialize in ferrying stolen cars from neighboring States [Read More] into Abia State have been smashed by the operatives of the Abia State Police Command.

Briefing journalist in Umuahia, the State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade said the Command operatives had been on the trail of the hoodlums for a while, stressing that on April 27, 2017, the Command picked up the duo of Emmanuel John and Onyeka Nnaji and recovered a Lexus RX 300 with number plate, ABC 472 LK, from the suspects

CP Oyebade added that the suspects have allegedly confessed to receiving the vehicle from one Don in Port Harcourt after the car was snatched from the owner in Asaba, Delta State at gun point. According to Oyebade, another Toyota Lexus Jeep with registration number UNC 986 AA, believed to have been high jacked from the owner, one Ezeru Falvian in Port Harcourt was also recovered.

Adding that the car was tracked down to Adindu Street, off Port Harcourt road in Aba as the jeep was being driven by one Samuel Enyinnaya. The CP also revealed that the Command recovered other cars that were abandoned by the drivers who couldn’t produce thevalid vehicle documents at checkpoint in Osisioma, Aba, whilst another suspected car thief jumped out of the car and ran into an adjoining street on sighting the police patrol team. The Commissioner said the Command will not rest on its oars until the fleeing drivers and other suspects in connection with stolen vehicles recovered by the Police are nabbed.
